Head unit manual
The names in quotation marks are those of the head unit app buttons, copied from the app. Only what applies to everyone is here.
Part of what is here is recent. The brightness that follows the headlight, for example, is still being checked in the car, and that is marked.
Screen brightness

The head unit keeps two brightness levels: DAY, for headlights off, and NIGHT, for headlights on. What decides which one applies is the car's real headlight (the position lamp), not Android's light or dark theme, which on this car stays fixed on night. The factory car changes the brightness together with the headlight but does not keep your choice; the head unit puts your choice on top.
Remember brightness
In «Tools», in the screen section, the «Remember screen brightness» switch turns this on. When on, the head unit learns by itself what you leave in each situation, from the app bar or from the car panel: set the brightness with the headlight off and then with the headlight on. It does not remember the screen off.
Save without waiting
To avoid waiting or turning the headlight on, use the «Save current brightness as DAY» and «Save current brightness as NIGHT» buttons, right below the switch. After saving, the screen goes back to the brightness for the headlight as it is now.
How long it takes to learn
From the app bar the adjustment applies at once. From the car panel the head unit takes about a minute to notice: wait two minutes before touching the headlight.
The sun in the notification bar
The sun icon in the notification bar has three taps, like the original app: the first applies the first setting, the second applies the second (only if it is on) and the next goes back to the brightness you had before tapping the icon. 0% is the screen off.
Turning it off
Turn «Remember screen brightness» off and the factory rule applies again: the car changes the brightness together with the headlight and does not keep your choice.
What the head unit does not do with brightness
The head unit adjusts the Android screen brightness. It does not yet write the level of the car's factory brightness selector, so the two can show different numbers. Whether it will start writing it is an open decision.

Where the internet comes from
The internet card says, in one word, how it arrives: through Wi-Fi, through the phone's Bluetooth, or that there is no internet.

Chooses the device that gets the turn: the head unit calls only that one, and the other paired devices wait.
Wi-Fi silent during projection
With CarPlay or Android Auto running, the head unit may put the Wi-Fi to silence on purpose, so as not to cut the audio and the picture. It comes back by itself.

«Apply all our patches»
Installs now whatever is not yet applied on this car. It only works with the car stopped, no call and no projection running. Some restart the system bar or the CarPlay engine; each one is checked and goes back to the previous state by itself if it fails.
«Revert all to factory»
Undoes now what is applied on this car. Nothing is deleted: the factory app stays in the system the whole time. After that the head unit stops touching those apps, including at the next start-up; to get a patch back, turn it on again on its own screen.
What is never touched
Nothing factory is deleted, and without an account with a valid pass the head unit leaves the car as it came from the factory.
